Additional payment obligation for service
charges in 2023
A large portion of tenants, especially those in non-self-contained units, will need to pay a substantial amount more due to the significantly increased energy prices in 2023. At the end of December 2022, the group contracts that DUWO had with Greenchoice expired and had to be renewed at the peak of the market. This is particularly reflected in the high individual and collective electricity bills in your final statement.
Government compensation for sharply increased electricity and gas costs
To compensate for the significantly increased energy costs in 2023, the government paid out €320 for self-contained units and €160 for non-self-contained units. DUWO, due to the long wait for this compensation, paid all tenants €320 in advance but is now reclaiming the overpaid €160 from tenants of non-self-contained units.
Statements per building complex
The administration of DUWO sends the BC of a building complex, or in the absence thereof, to Duwoners, a very extensive set of documents along with a clear explanation. These documents can be viewed in your personal environment in Lasso. There you will find the 2023 service charge statement and also those of previous years: DUWO service charge statements. Due to administrative issues, DUWO has not yet settled all complexes (which should have been done by July 1, 2024), so it is possible that your complex is not yet listed in Lasso.
Increase in service charge advance from July 1, 2024
Starting July 1, the service charge advance will be significantly increased for gas/heating and electricity. Since half the year will already have passed, it is expected that an additional payment will be required for 2024 as well.
